Disney’s Descendants Franchise Writing

For Disney Consumer Products, Carly wrote extensive original creative content (treatments, plot points, in-depth character profiles, etc.) for new animated Tween TV series that went on to become the Disney Channel’s Descendants franchise.

Unfortunately due to Disney’s confidentiality policy she cannot post any of writing she did for online. She would only be able to show her work in person to prospective clients.

Facts About The Descendant’s Franchise

The Descendants franchise consists of three Disney Channel musical fantasy adventure-comedy films. Each film chronicles the lives of the teenage children of four Disney-villains on the Isle of the Lost.

The first Descendants film…had an initial audience of 6.6 million viewers, growing to 10.54 million after three days (a 59% gain). On its premiere night, it became the most-watched broadcast on the network of 2015, and the highest-rated broadcast on the network since 2013.

Descendants 2… was watched by 5.3 million viewers on Disney Channel and 8.9 million through all six networks.  Descendants 2 went from 5.33 million to 8.58 million in three days, a 61%jump.

Descendants 3…premiered on August 2, 2019. The movie received 4.6 million viewers on its premiere night.

Product Development / Product Copy

Carly wrote creative editorial copy for product development (Boys, Girls and Infant apparel lines) under the Disney/Pixar Monster’s Inc property. Below are a few samples of her copy used and put onto products.

Disney Princess Franchise Videos

Carly creatively developed and wrote short form (60-90 seconds) content for the Disney Princess franchise. These scripts for video segments contained aspirational messages specifically targeting a younger girl demographic (ages 2-9).
