Carly wrote website copy as well as scripts for internal projects for Framework LA Studio.

Below are samples of her work done for the company…

Project: Dak Tandy

Editorial: There were no strings attached here...except to our cast of puppets.  Our raunchy puppet-filled pilot was filmed with only 3 weeks of prep, 2 units and 2 cameras.  We blazed through 38 pages in 3 days.  It certainly didn’t hurt that classic jokesters like David Spade and Christopher Walken were there to liven up the party either…even if we could only get Walken in puppet form.  The comedic genius, Peter Farrelly, producer of Dumb and Dumber and There’s Something About Mary, along with Matthew Leonetti, Director of Photography for Ghostbusters and Poltergeist, joined forces with us to create this sidesplitting fun.

Project: Identity Thief

Editorial: We stole the lives of Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy for the day by coordinating a multi-network promo day for Universal Pictures’ hit comedy, Identity Thief.  MTV trusted us to shoot this sneaky spot.  Pickpocket these celebs’ tips on how to prevent identity theft.  It’s the most unique, crooked advice you may ever get.  It’s so good - it’s criminal.

2guns.jpg

Project: FX 2GUNS

Editorial: ‘You fight for the guy who’s fighting next to you’ -- and who wouldn’t if one of those guys was Denzel Washington or Mark Wahlberg?  We partnered with FX to create an FXclusive look at Universal Pictures’ action packed thriller, 2Guns.  Get lost in this journey of brotherhood, high-speed chases and shoot ‘em up explosions.  Are you ready to ‘make it rain?’

Project: MTV Ron Ron Review

Editorial: All muscle and tan lines aside, Ronnie Ortiz Magro from the hit MTV reality show, Jersey Shore, knows how to kick butt.  Our creative partners 20 Century Fox & MTV both know it’s no secret that Ronnie’s non-conformist attitude matches that of his fellow anti-heroes in these fun movie review promos.  Ronnie uses his guns rather than some stinky rotten tomatoes to give us his seal of approval.  Like Logan from Wolverine or John McClane from A Good Day To Die Hard, Ronnie can relate to being in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Street smart, funny and buff; we give Ronnie 5 Ron Rons for his performance in these promos.

Project: Panasonic 3D

Editorial: Panasonic dared us to craft a movie trailer to showcase the launch of their Smart VIERA 3D televisions.  One crazy creative challenge we faced was writing a script for a movie trailer for a nonexistent story.  This action–packed trailer is crammed with speeding cars, zooming jets, electric explosions and serious stunts.  Sounds pretty epic, huh?  It was.  2 days, 3 locations, 9 sets and 2 units shooting simultaneously with their own 3D rig with 2 Red cameras each!  Filming was fully loaded and we loved every second of it!  This trailer stars Mercedes Renard from Hitch and Simon Quarterman from The Devil Inside and was directed by our very own George Cawood.  Enjoy the 2D version here.  If you want the full 3D experience you’ll just have to come visit us at the studio.

Project: Snow White and the Huntsman – Lifetime

Editorial: Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the most kick butt-iest of them all?  Strong sirens, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron, open up in this exclusive behind the scenes sneak peek into Universal Pictures’ Snow White and The Huntsman.  We worked our collective booty off with Lifetime as we wrote, shot, directed and finished post to create promos surrounding their Women Who Kick Butt campaign.  Luckily no one was beat up during the shoot - not too badly at least.

Project: Ted - Spike TV

Editorial: Adding to Universal’s classic Ted scene for this Spike promo for the 2012 Guys Choice Awards was oh so manly.  Hearing Seth Macfarlane read our dialogue – beyond words!  And we grant the Guys Choice “Holy Grail of Hot” Award to none other than Ted himself; crude, but soft and cuddly all the same.

Project: RIPD – Rest in Peace Department

Editorial: Bow down to the great and powerful, the one and only, The Dude.  You can help honor him officially by watching our Spike promo for the 2013 Guys Choice Awards.  Hollywood heartthrob, Ryan Reynolds, and the original Dude, Jeff Bridges, team up mano e mano in Universal Pictures’ R.I.P.D – Rest In Peace Department.  Their characters visit us to spread the word about the awards show with the most hairy chests, smokin’ guns and brawn anyone could ask for…and the golden mantlers – DUH!

Project: The Internship

Editorial: Have a fresh pot of coffee ready to go, collate those packets, make sure the boardroom is spotless and get ready for the sassiest day at your internship yet.  We filmed 3 spots for MTV, Spike & Comedy Central for the 20th Century Fox film, The Internship.  We only had 20 minutes to turn around the entire room for each spot.  Now that’s what I call improv!  With 7 reds rolling, there’s no way we could have missed any of the comedic magic being cast by funny bone tickling wizards, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn and Miles Fisher.  They rock in these hilarious promos with the perfect blend of sarcasm and wit.  ‘What happened to Downtown Julie Brown and the other Julie Brown?’ ‘Yeah there were two of them.’

Project: ALLIANCE FILMS

Editorial: We forged a bond in fire with Giaronomo Productions to develop a new logo for Alliance Films in time for the international release of The Hunger Games.  Ultimately inspired by flames that forged this partnership, the denouement is set in motion by fireballs and burning embers.  Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, every end has a new beginning.  Watch as the Alliance Films logo is reborn before your very eyes.

Project: THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN

Editorial:  Get wrapped up in this venomous teaser for Sony Pictures’ The Amazing Spiderman.  When Giaronomo Productions approached Framework, we swung to our think tank.  We chose to deconstruct the logo and conceptualize what would happen when inertia was brought into the mix.  The final reveal is a dynamic regeneration of the spiders’ body parts as they swing and rise into position by attached sticky webs.  “Look Out!  Here comes the Spiderman."

Project: CNN HEROES

Editorial: Every little thing you do matters.  That’s no surprise for our CNN Heroes, a yearly-televised gala devoted to honoring everyday people positively impacting the world.  Framework designed, shot and executed both the show open as well as the interior graphics package.  The passion these heroes have for making a real difference inspired our passion for this piece.

Project: COLOMBIANA

Editorial: She will not stop until they feel how she has felt all these years.  We know not to mess with the stunning Zoe Saldana in EuropaCorp’s film, Colombiana.  Framework created the graphics for Big Picture Entertainment’s editorial.  This beautiful trailer received a nomination for the “Best Thriller, Golden Trailer Award” in 2012.  You know what else is beautiful?  Vengeance.

Project: LES MISERABLES

Editorial: ‘We dreamed a dream in time gone by’...sorry, we get carried away every time we see this spot.  Partnering with Universal Pictures on Les Miserables wasn’t the least bit miserable at all.  With the accelerated schedule, we moved as fast as these real flags were waving.  16 fans billowed the flags as we shot them at high speed.  We built, keyed and composited these series of flags within a mere two-day time frame!  You may have sobbed through the film, but we guarantee you will only cry from happiness from watching this.

Project: NEW GIRL

Editorial: “Hey girl, whatcha doing?” Creating FOX’s hit comedy TV show New Girl opening title sequence that’s what!  Adorakable Zooey Deschanel wrote and performed an original theme song to score this Emmy Nominated title sequence.  Take a peek into the world of Jess as her roommates Nick, Schmidt and Winston bring her back to reality.  "Who’s that girl?  It’s Jess!"

Project: SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS

Editorial: Calling all psychopaths!  Are you mental?  Deranged?  Then we have just the film for you.  CBS films’, Seven Pychopaths is basically your anthem.  Our portrayal of the existing one-sheet resulted in an audio-visual campaign that gained a 2013 nomination for "Most Innovative Advertising for a Feature Film, Golden Trailer Award."  Partnering with editorial veterans, Big Picture Entertainment, Framework's kinetic graphics elevate the spot to a mind buzzing, skin crawling, psychopathic frenzy.  Maybe the world just doesn’t understand you, but we do; and with an all-star cast of Christopher Walken, Colin Farrell, Woody Harrelson, Tom Waits and Sam Rockwell, you’ll never be alone.  Sniff, Sniff.  ‘Ok, you seem normal?’  You can watch.

Project: SUBARU

Editorial: Ironically, Oxygen wanted us to breathe air into a commercial spot documenting the life of a real Subaru Forester owner.  Our spot aired on “The NBC Family of Networks” to celebrate Earth Week and we were lucky to have found Erin.  Erin lives off the grid and helps replenish our planet through recycling and composting so she can leave a small carbon footprint.  Though she treads lightly, she still has ‘Big Adventures’ with her Subaru.

Project: THIS IS 40

Editorial: People say, ‘40 is the new 30!’ but according to Paul Rudd, “…only people who are turning 40 say that.”  Who better to help us catch a glimpse into one of life’s integral milestones than Lifetime?  We worked our bicoastal brilliance by planning the production from La La Land, but rolling it out in the Big Apple.  Let the dynamic duo of Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd help nurse you through your mid-life crisis in this exclusive sneak peek.  Get ready for an honest and funny take on the bumps and bruises that accompany the, sometimes not so graceful, arrival into mid-life.

Project: THE VOICE

Editorial: Me - me - me - me - my!  Aheh!  Talpa Media cast us to warm up the vocal cords for NBC’s The Voice.  We took a sip of our cup of tea (with honey and lemon), cleared our throats, engaged our diaphragms and took center stage.  Through scales and practice we revamped the show package and on-stage graphics.  The range of what we created was a concept that felt dynamic and sleek, like a music diva, but could fit within their gorgeous set design.  Find your voice this season.  We know we did.

Title: SPIKE - GUYS CHOICE AWARDS

Editorial: What to choose...what to choose?  Spike chose us to create an adventurous theme for 2013’s Guys Choice Awards.  We worked out our guns to take on this manly mission.  Leading up to the event we developed 4 promos for sponsors including AT&T and Guinness.

Covering both opening titles and show package arenas, we reveled in coming up with bizarre environments and scenarios to match the fun, sexiness and irreverence of the awards.  Drawing inspiration from Pulp Art and old war comics, our team found a beautiful balance between what moved and what was static; pulling together a truly unique and raucous package.

Project: THE BEST MAN HOLIDAY

Editorial: You thought spending time with family during the holidays was hard?   Try reuniting with former flames and frenemies after 15 years in Universal Pictures’ sequel, The Best Man Holiday.  The cast sat down with Yandi Smith from VH1’s Love and Hip Hop, Tanisha Thomas from Oxygen’s Bad Girls Club, BET’s Toccara Jones and Cynthia Bailey from Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta to recall hilarious stories from set and discuss what the film is ultimately about; love. Rekindle the warmth in your heart with your loved ones watching The Best Man Holiday.

Project: The Sing Off/ DM2 Mini Movie

Editorial: Beedo!  Beedo!  Beedo! Hello?  You need us to shoot a promo for NBC’s new season of The Sing Off?  Absolutely! Minion madness ensued as they auditioned for folk legend and the newest judge of The Sing Off, Jewel.  Do you think the Minions made it to the next round? Check out their audition and you be the judge.

Carly wrote 5 commercial scripts for several 15 second promo spots for NBC’s The Sing Off With Jewel & Despicable Me 2. Check out on the promos to the left!
